StepheDuring the early eighties my good friend Stephen Rogers owned a pair of RAM 150s. These were two way speakers with a drone cone (auxiliary bass radiator ABR). They produced rock solid bass that went down really low. These speakers were also brilliantly made. At this time I also came across the RAM compact which seemed completely indestructible (a true mighty midget) RAM also had a model 100 and the flagship model 200

RAM made fabulous speakers but like so many other audio companies it disappeared very quickly.

The RAM uses a DALESFORD 200mm bass. Does anyone remember the famous Dalesford D? The magnet is a bit of a monster (FEROBA)

Auxillary Bass Radiator (ABR) at the bottom is completely passive. My Velodyne subwoofer uses the same sort of technology. Quite popular in the UK during the late seventies.
Also used in models like Celestion 15XR and Kef 104ab
Ram 200 crossover.
a collection of RAM 200 images. I highly recommend all RAM loudspeakers. They are well known for high power handling. (The RAM compact was a little dynamo) The all produce weighty bass
They are becoming very scarce, are relatively inefficient and require powerful amps. Not for your typical tube amp
