沉思录读后感(英文版)
Meditations 工商2班  周尧(1112000220)   It was two years ago when I first heard about this book, which was said be put on our premier Wen’s bedside cupboard and was read by him for more than 100 times. Meditations was written by a philosopher Marcus Aurelius, his another identification is the emperor of Roman, an unlucky emperor. In the 20 years, he always tried his best to save the declining Roman. Facing the endless war, natural disaster and rebellion, he spent nearly all his time in the border or the military camp. In the process, he wrote his book, a book to have a conversation with himself.   The first impression of the book is its difficulty to comprehend and was so confused by the idea it transfered. It tried to convey a somewhat nagtive attitude towards life, how could it be like this? Gradully, I found that it is absolutly true to choose a lifestyle or attitude to obey the nature and your mind. This book tells me a lesson, to bear the pain and sorrow with your will and wisdom, not to go to complain about what self encounters. Believe in the gods arrangement , believe that self is able to bear suffering, believe that self is not the weak, then, you will be able to be hit by the integral and indivisible freshman from the suffering experience.   On the other hand, It pays an emphasis on the moral principle and tells everyone to be an upright and noble man with virtue. I think it is the most important meaning of the book because it tell us how to be a wise man in daily life. Treat others in the way that you would like to treat yourself. This book is Marcus' own reflection, it is the proof of the word "the biggest enemy is yourself". Be more demanding with yourself and less so with others and then you will add much sunshine in your life. So we might as well put attention away from the others and then move to look at ourselves, look at our heart before you make any decisions.   All in all, Marcus' theory is pursusing a kind of life which is calm and philosophical, without enthusiasm and desire. He thought all the suffering and anxiety are from his mind, which can be removed. What he needed to do is to stay at the corner quietly in his inner world. Although there are moving praises of morality, but I believe it is too early for us active and enthusiastic young people to learn his way. What we could get is its method to to comprehend the world.
