2011-2012-2大学英语二(视听说)口语试 Part I Speech (40%) Directions: Please make a speech according to the given topic. Your time limit is 1 minute. 1 Do you think music can affect people’s lives? Why? Yes, I think music can affect people’s lives. Nowadays, music has become indispensable part in our daily life and made a profound impact on many people. Firstly, music can meet our requirements by easing our minds and comforting our bodies. Secondly, when you feel depressed, it will cheer you up. When you feel angry, it may make you calm down. That is to say, you are always will be able to find yourself in music. In any way, music is affecting us. 2 Can you share with me one of your musical memories? About music,Everyone should have one memory that can't forget. In my memory, the most unforgettable is a special song. My father said that the Lyricist and composer of the song is me. He said that when I three years old, I created it. But I completely forgot about it. My father always sings the song. Whenever this time, I always pretended to be impatient, but in my heart, I feel special touched. 3 Do you like singing karaoke? Why? I always enjoyed singing karaoke. First of all, I enjoy the atmosphere in a karaoke place. Secondly, Karaoke is a group activity that requires a few friends gather together. We sing together to release our daily pressure. And we just simply talk with each other while other people are singing. Singing karaoke with friends is a great way to relax and have fun at the same time. On the other hand, It can also deepen the friendship with our friends 4 Do your parents enjoy listening to the same music as you do? What could you do to narrow the generation gap in music appreciation? Most of the time, we'll have the same hobbies. But sometimes, we may have a disagreement. I don't like to listen to the old songs of the 1990s. on the contrary, my parents love them very much. But in the music field, the generation gap between my parents and I is very small. So when we listen to the music together, I always follow my parents’ love. Besides, listen to old songs of the 1990s also have a special feeling. 5 What do you think about buying pirated CDs or books? It is like stealing something from other people who have put in their hard work to create music or film. The writers and directors who create these movies and music always behind the screen. They are not directly visible. We should honor their effort. At least not buy pirated music and Movies. But in this regard,I have one superb idea. Shopkeepers should release their DVDs and CDs in lower prices. Let people can buy and view original DVDs and CDs. But most of shopkeepers release their DVDs and CDs in high prices. That's why normal kind of people purchase pirated CD and DVDs. 6 What types of movies do you like? Why? Comedy Because it can always bring me happiness, make me forget some troubles and unhappy things. There are some things in the real life that make people feel sad, but comedy can make people laugh again. Besides, from my childhood to now I’m always crazy about cartoon. There's no reason, I just love it. But with increase of age, the type that I like has changed. 7 Can you recommend a movie to me? Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story In this film, the parents of this actress take drugs. When she is 8 years old, she began begging. 15 years old, her mother died of AIDS. Father put into the shelter. At 17, she prepares to use 2 years time to finish high school four years course. Finally, she get first scholarship in 1996 of the New York times and into Harvard study. It’s a spirit upward movie. Bring me a lot of shock and moved. As far as I am concerned ,it is really a good film. 8 If a book has been made into a movie, do you prefer to see the movie or to read the book first? Certainly I want to see the movie first. A movie is meant to entertain, while a book may have a stronger educational function. If one reads the book first, one will know the outcome of the movie in advance. With hardly any suspense, the movie will lose much of its appeal in spite of its colorful scenes. On the other hand, if we see the movie first, we can still appreciate the corresponding book. The book is usually longer than the adapted movie, and therefore you can still find a lot of new stuff. So , after seeing the movie, you can still enjoy the book. 9 Who is your favorite director or actor or actress in China and abroad? Why? 宫崎骏(Miyazaki Hayao) I am a real fan of Miyazaki Hayao. I have seen and collected all of his works. Such as Castle in the Sky and Tonar. The creation of Hayao Miyazaki's film background style is always fresh and romantic. In Hayao Miyazaki's films, we can release our pressure that comes from work and study. I always feel sweet and happy when I saw the movie. So when I feel sad, I will see his films. I will never change the love for him. 10 Which do you think is most important for a movie, winning an award at an international film festival , receive a national film award, or enjoying successful box-office sales? Why? I think the most important thing is a successful box-office sale. Successful box-office sales most can representative of the success of a movie. Box office sales well mean it is loved by people. And the movie is designed to let people see. If we all like the movie, to some extent, it is representative of the film is successful. So ,from my view,it more important than winning an award at an international film festival or receive a national film award. 11 Do you believe in love at first sight? Why? I do not believe in love at first sight. When you see someone for the first time, you can only feel attracted to their appearance, it is impossible to learn about someone's personality and character through sight only. Falling in love with someone requires that you know him well and understand the way he thinks. When you see someone for the first time, the only feelings that can be mustered are those of lust. Feeling attracted to their body and feeling the urge to be with them is often mistaken with feelings of love. We need to learn the difference between these if we are ever to succeed in finding true love. 12 What do you know about wedding traditions in China or western countries? There are many customs in Chinese wedding. Now, I just say one point. In traditional China, the newlyweds wear Tang suit. The brides sometimes wear cheongsam. Most of the newlyweds choose red suit, because red symbolize happy and lucky in China. For example the bride covers red cloth and the groom pins a large red flower on his suit. All the things are new that means a new start of the life. 13 What do you think of the dating programs on TV? Nowadays, with the aid of the public media everyone can show themselves. Such as to meet the other half of life. But in the TV commercial packaging, it is no longer so simple. In the pursuit of ratings and the drive of economic benefits, the television stations first focus that whether the program attracts the audience. On the other hand, some of the guests would like to take this opportunity to increase the exposure rate. Not really want to find the other half of life. 14 Do you believe that fate or destiny draws people together? Why? I have been watching a lot of romance movies lately and I realized that some of these movies do come true. There are just instances where two people who are destined for each other meet at the right place at the right time. Sometimes I wonder whether or not fate will bring us to our destiny. But in the end, I still think that fate will find ways to bring people together, who are destined to be with each other. 15 Should people buy things according to what ads say? Advertisings are full of our lives now. There is no doubt that buying things according to the ads can save lots of time. However, when you really use it, especially those who posts their ads online. It will cause some troubles which may really makes your time lost. Ads exist as a kind of suggestions but not a choice. Get full suggestions and use your own eyes to select goods can have great fun. 16 Personally, do you mind product placement (植入广告)? For film and all kinds of programs implant the advertising phenomenon. The main reason is that in recent years, Chinese culture film industry commercialization acceleration. Implanted advertisement for the film industry and the development of the entertainment provided money. However, in the film, available for implantation of advertising excessive use will cause the audience antipathetic. Finally affect the film and television play or to the attitude of the program. 17 Should animals be kept in a zoo? We can see many kinds of animals in the zoo. However, I don't think that animals should be kept in a zoo. They should be free. It is necessary to put them in the nature. What’s more, there are also some animals are in danger of extinction. We have to protect them carefully. Animals are friends of human beings. We should treat them kindly. 18 If you can choose to be a kind of animal, what do you want to be? Maybe I would prefer to be a bird. It has the whole sky to fly and has the absolute freedom. Birds also can forget any bad just in a little time. I always remember the word said by Leslie in day of being wild that “I am a bird without legs. In my life only make twice to stand on the ground, one for the birth and another for the death.” So, If possible, I would like to become a bird. 19 What do you want to say to those people who wear furs (皮草)? Nowadays, many people wear fur for fashion. However, the fur is made of animal fur. Some people kill many animals to earn much money. Therefore, some animals are in danger of extinction. In my opinion, there are many other ways can make us fashionable. We should not wear fur. Protecting animals is what we should do. 20 Do you and your family keep pets? What animals would you like to keep as pets? I want to keep dogs and cats. But if must make a choice between them. I prefer dogs to cats. Dogs are more loyal to their owners than cats are. Also dogs are more intelligent than cats. They can carry out human instructions and perform fairly complicated functions. Moreover, with its strength and agility, the dog is capable of protecting the house and its master. 21 How do you understand “Fashion is made to become unfashionable”? Fashion is at specific time by a few people in to try to take the lead in advance other people enjoy the fashion, and then they imitate. After that, more and more people imitate these fashions. As the continuance of time and the increased number of people, fashionable things become popular. So, it is “Fashion is made to become unfashionable” 22 You are what you wear. Do you agree? Yes, I agree with the phrase that you are what you wear. Because in a way, what you are wearing reflects your personality. An individual style of clothing, collocation, color and other aspects of the request can reflects one’s characters in some extent. It is a expression of what you are thinking , what you like and dislike in a subtle way. 23 Do you buy lottery? Why? No. I don’t buy lottery. on one hand, lottery winning probability is very small. Quite few people may be winning. On the other hand, As far as I am concerned, I have to hold my own destiny, and hope in the lottery is too passive. Get rich in the hopes of winning the lottery is unrealistic. We should work hard to earn money on our own, Instead of thinking about buying lottery tickets. 24 What qualities must a person have to make big money? To make big money, one should acquire a good education as a first step. However, not everyone who graduates from a privileged university can always thrive in business. One also needs a high IQ and a high EQ. With high IQ, one can easily understand a new situation and find opportunities. With a high EQ, one tends to get along well with people. Popularity may give people golden chances. 25 Do you think the death penalty (死刑) can prevent or reduce crimes? I don’t think the death can prevent crime altogether. Capital punishment has been around for thousands of years, but crime has never been stopped. Some people commit crimes because of their psychological problems. Others may weigh the material benefits against the risks involved, and thus decide to go ahead in spite of the risks. If potential criminals know a certain crime will cost them their heads, some of them may stop, but some other may commit more serious crimes. 26 What measures should we take to prevent drunk driving or speeding? The law of our country can increase penalties. Police has to strengthen law enforcement for drunk driving. Once found a drunk driver, resolutely make no exception, in accordance with the law. Never tolerate. The driver should improve the consciousness and self-control. After drunk can ask someone to drive back. Do not drunk driving, it is responsible for ourselves and others. 27 Do you think pedestrians (行人) who run the red light should be punished? I think that the pedestrian who run the red light should be punished. Everyone should obey the rules of traffic, including pedestrian. If people do not follow the rules, it is easy to cause an accident. As far as I am concerned, the pedestrian should pay more attention to the safety. It is a good way to reduce the accident. 28 Tell me one of your fears. I fear darkness. In a complete darkness I may be scared out of my senses. But I can do at least these things to reduce my fear. First of all, I will try to find out whether there is a candle or flashlight. Even a dim light may lessen my fear a bit. If there is no candle or flashlight, I can draw open the curtains to let in some light from the street lamps. This may help decrease my fear. 29 If a student is afraid of speaking English in front of other people, what suggestions can you give? The student can memorize lots of sentence patterns and useful expressions. With improved language proficiency, he could gradually build up his confidence. Besides, he should be told that the important thing is successful communication. As long as he can get his ideas across, it doesn’t matter even though he makes a few grammar errors. And he just practices his English often. Finally, he can speak English in front of other people. 30 How does fear limit a person’s life experiences and opportunities? Give three examples. Fear has a great influence on the life of people。 A moderate fear can produce worry or tension, it can help us to stretch our limits and perform at our best. On the other hand, Excessive fear can be self-destructive and can damage entire psyche of a person entire psyche of a person and can interfere with the ability to react realistically and effectively to a situation. Beside, Excessive fear may cause a person to take the wrong course of action or may lead him or her to indecisive or inaction Part II Dialogue (60%) Directions: Please create a dialogue with your partner according to the given situation.
