GSE 7 / 98 Page 1 of 5 APPLICATION INSTRUCTION – for online application Completing your application… Online Application Any omission of information required in the application or supporting documents will render the application void and should be avoided. Please indicate “N.A.” or leave the column blank if any section does not apply to you or no information is available. Please complete the entry of online application in English. Please note that you will be required to sign and enclose the printed Online application form. A copy can be printed by selecting “Print online application form” from “Summary” tab. This is to be submitted along with the relevant supporting documents by the closing date. Referees Please list the names and contact details of two persons (not relatives of applicant) from whom we may request letters of reference pertaining to your academic ability and/or job performance. The University will contact the referees directly should letters of reference be required. Objective of Pursuing Course (click here to download) Please print and fill out 1 copy of the “Objective of Pursuing Course” template to submit with your online application forms and other supporting documents, arranging it immediately after your printed online application forms. Upload of Degree Scroll and Transcript/Results Slips You are required to upload only a copy of your (1) degree scroll and (2) transcript in the online application website (under the tab named “Document” – Section B). If a consolidated transcript is unavailable, you may upload each semester’s results slips individually. Each Applicant Account is allowed a maximum upload size of 2MB. The application system is able to accept only uploaded documents in the pdf or Word format. Supporting documents All supporting documents submitted in a language other than English must be accompanied by an officially translated and certified copy in the English language. Documents submitted should be A4-sized and all envelopes are to be removed (except the original full transcript to remain in Official SEALED envelope). Please do NOT file or bind your application documents. Original copies of supporting documents submitted by candidates will not be returned. IMPORTANT NOTES  Each complete application for 1 M.Sc. programme consists of: - Completed Online Application Form (1 set) with 1 set of supporting documents  For the order of arrangement of application forms & supporting documents, please refer to the application checklist for a diagrammatic representation If you are applying for MORE THAN 1 M.Sc. programme… The number of forms and supporting documents which you are required to submit : Acknowledgement Card (click here to download) Your completed acknowledgement card should be returned to us together with your completed application package. Please print it on A4-sized paper. Once we begin processing your application, the card will be returned to acknowledge receipt of your application. We will also indicate on the card any outstanding documents in support of your admission (if any). Transcript Request Form (Click here to download the form) An ORIGINAL official transcript of academic records, or its certified true copy, is required from each university attended. Candidates with qualifications other than those from NUS are to request the transcript(s) from your relevant university. Please use the transcript request form for this purpose. If you have attended more than one university, you should make photocopies of the transcript request form as required. Graduate Coursework Application Fee Form (Click here to download the form) Except for the NUS-TUD M.Sc (Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management)/M.Sc Civil Engineering) Double Degree Programme, each programme applied for should be accompanied by the payment of an application fee of S$20 (inclusive of 7% GST). Application fee for the NUS-TUD M.Sc (Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management)/M.Sc Civil Engineering) Double Degree Programme is covered by the Singapore-Delft Water Alliance. Do print a copy of the Graduate Coursework Application Fee form and submit it together with your cheque/bank draft. Cheques and bank drafts must be made payable to “National University of Singapore” Please refer to the Graduate Coursework Application Fee form for details on payment. Payment by credit card is accepted only for Online applications. If making (Number of M.Sc. programme applied for) x (1 set of your completed Online Application Form + 1 set of supporting documents) GSE 7 / 98 Page 2 of 5 payment by credit card, please attach your credit card transaction receipt to Graduate Coursework Application Fee Form when submitting your application. TOEFL/IELTS Scoresheets TOEFL/IELTS scores are required for applicants who graduated from universities where English is not the main medium of instruction. For such applicants, a minimum TOEFL score of 600 (paper-based test) or 250 (computer-based test) or 92 (internet-based test) or IELTS result of 6.5 is required in order to be exempted from the University’s English requirement. Applicants whose TOEFL/IELTS results fall within the following ranges will have to take NUS’s Diagnostic English Test upon admission and may be emplaced in English course(s) thereafter: 580 < TOEFL (paper-based test) < 600 237 < TOEFL (computer-based test) < 250 85 < TOEFL (internet-based test) < 92 IELTS = 6.0 For applicants of the NUS-TUD M.Sc (Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management)/M.Sc (Civil Engineering) Double Degree Programme, the following TOEFL/IELTS requirements are applicable: - TOEFL/IELTS scores are required for applicants, including NUS graduates, who are not nationals of USA, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. [Minimum TOEFL score 92 (internet-based test) or IELTS Academic result of 6.5]. - Applicants whose TOEFL result falls within the following ranges will have to take NUS’s Diagnostic English Test upon admission and may be emplaced in English course(s) thereafter: 90 < TOEFL (internet-based test) < 92 - Applicants whose IELTS Academic result does not meet the above minimum requirement will not be offered admission IMPORTANT: Applicants who do not submit a satisfactory official TOEFL/IELTS score by the closing date of application will not be considered. NUS Graduate Scholarship for ASEAN Nationals (NUS GSA) We advise applicants applying for the NUS GSA to be familiar with the eligibility, rules & conditions described in our application booklet and/or website before applying. TOEFL or IELTS scoresheet is compulsory for application to the NUS GSA. Applicants who fail to meet the eligibility requirements need not apply. The NUS GSA is not available to applicants of the NUS-TUD M.Sc (Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management) and M.Sc Civil Engineering) Double Degree Programme. Programme Details – Master of Science programmes offered by Faculty of Engineering Click here to obtain a copy of the Application booklet for reference. NUS-TUD M.Sc (Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources Management)/M.Sc (Civil Engineering) Double Degree Programme Applicants of this programme have the option to apply for either the single NUS M.Sc (HEWRM) degree or the NUS-TUD double degree. If they wish to submit online applications for both, they will need to create separate Applicant Accounts for the single and double degree options. Applicants who wish to apply for the double degree option should note that the application and course requirements for the single degree option are different from the double degree option. Applicants should also note that the double degree can only be pursued on a full-time basis. When filling out the online application for the double degree option, please select “DDP – TU Delft & NUS (GD)” for the item “Double Degree” located in the Preference tab.
