1. How are you doing? =How are you? 你好吗？
2 .invite sb. to do sth= ask sb. to do邀请某人做某事。Invite sb (to sp) 邀请某人去某地。
3. prepare for sth准备某事（准备时间较长，思想上的准备）：prepare for the exam
sth for sb.为某人准备…：prepare food for Lily
to do sh准备做…：I prepare to go hiking.
4.say sth to sb. 向某人说….： say thanks/hello/goodbye to Peter
5.系动词+adj. 系表结构
① be (am/is/are/was/were)
② 感官v.(feel, sound, taste品尝,smell闻) look/seem/appear看起来
③ 四变化(turn/become/go/ get /grow) *turn侧指颜色变化
④ keep, make, stay, remain

=I went to buy tickets, but there were no tickets left. None(三者或以上)都不，表全部否定。None of+人/物。None of作主语，谓语看用单数，可用复数。None 可用来回答how many引导的句子。*注：none 后不能直接加n. all---none; both---neither.

9. be+ adj. + 介词结构
be proud of…= take(a) pride in…以……为骄傲。
be proud of自豪，骄傲 e.g. The teacher is proud of his student.

be popular with…受……欢迎
e.g. The book is popular with students.
be worried about; be afraid of; be angry with; be bored with;
be interested in; be nervous about; be famous for+sth/as+身份
be satisfied with; be surprised at; be excited about/at sth
be strict with sb. be strict about/in sth

12. be able to do能够---侧指通过努力能够实现的（*will be able to）
can---侧指人所具有的一种能力。只有现在时和过去时。
13. ring up sb. = call sb. = phone sb. =give sb. a call打电话给某人。
14. noise.指令人不愉快的响声，说话声或嘈杂声。E.g. Don’t make so much noise.
区别 sound.指可以听到的任何声音。e.g. He opened the door without a sound.
Voice. 主要指人说话或唱歌时发出来的声音。E.g. she has a good voice.
15. be sorry for sb. 为某人难过 e.g. I am sorry for you.
be sorry about sth e.g. I am sorry about your illness.
be sorry to do sth 很抱歉做某事 e.g. I am sorry to hear that.
be sorry that+从句 e.g. I’m sorry that he lost the game.
16. one of +n复数+ v单数：“……中…之一” e.g. One of the books is mine.
one of +the +adj最高级+N复+V单:“……中最…之一”
e.g. He is one of the most lovely boys in our class.
17. lonely—“孤单、寂寞”，强调精神上的孤单、寂寞，但未必一个人
alone—“单独”，强调一个人独处，但精神上未必寂寞。
e.g. The old man lives alone, but he doesn’t feel lonely.
18. because of + n./短语：I can’t go to the party because of the weather.
because + 句子：I can’t go to the party because it rains heavily.
19. teach sb. sth: Lily teaches us English.
