Themarkingconsistsofasolidbar,theheightofwhichequalshandthewidthofwhichequals1.2a.theheight(h)ofthebarshallbethegreaterof0.3aor1mm.Thebarshallonlybeusedinconjunctionwiththecrossed-outwheeledbin.Thebarshallnotcontainanytextoranykindofadditionalinformation.Thedimensionalrelationshipshowninthepictureblowshallbemaintained.Intheabsenceofrelevantproductstandardsoriftherelevantproductstandarddoesnotincludemarkingdurabilityrequirements,thefollowingshallapply:Complianceischeckedbyinspectionandbyrubbingbyhandfor15swithapieceofclothsoakedwithwaterandagainfor15swithapieceofclothsoakedwithpetroleumspirit.Afterthistest,themarkingshallbelegible,itshallnotbeeasilypossibletoremovethemarking.Ifused,markingplatesorlabelsshallshownocurling.Note:Thepetroleumspirittobeusedforthetestisaliphaticsolventhexanehavingamaximumaromaticscontent0.1%byvolume,akauri-butanolvalueof29,aninitialboilingpointofapproximately65℃,adrypointofapproximately69℃andaspecificmassofapproximately0.7kg/l.Whenusingpetroleumspiritappropriateenvironmental,healthandsafetymeasuresshouldbeapplied.AdaptionofthelocationofthemarkingIfsizeorothercharacteristicssuchasfunctionalityoftheproductmeansthatthemarkingcannotbeappliedontheproduct,themarkingshallbe1.onaflagonthefixedsupplycord(ifany),and2.intheoperatinginstructionsandwarrantycertificatesincludedwiththeproduct,ifsupplied.Ifnoneoftheaboveappliesthenthemarkingshallbeonthepackaging.FordetailsaboutEU'sWEEEregulation- EN50419,clickheretodownload.
