CV: curriculum vitae 简历(书), 个人履历 (course of life)
Resume 简历
· 1. A curriculum vitae is usually long, often several pages.

admissions...
· 4. In curriculum vitae, academic, curricular, and scholarly areas are in considerable focus. Hence you will find details of awards, publications, projects, honors, memberships, affiliations ...

Chronological 经历简历
· --- place emphasis on employment experience
· Reverse chronological order
Best used when
· You have work experience in the type occupation you are seeking
· You have a good work history showing stable job growth or reasonable employment duration
· Your work history indicates well recognized companies in the business group
This style is not good if
· You have no related experience
· You are re-entering the work force after an extended absence
· You have held several jobs for only a limited time
Functional 功能简历
· ---place emphasis on skills and achievements
· Skills and previous relevant experience (including educational experience) are presented at the beginning
Best used when
· You are entering a new career or challenging career direction
· You lack work experience in the type of work you are seeking
· You have a spotty work history which reflects job hopping
· Your most recent, or all your work history is in an occupation separate from the work you are seeking now
Advantage
· Draws attention to what you’ve done rather than when and where you did it.
· Allows you greater flexibility in presenting skills gained through personal experience or through low-paying or unpaid jobs
· Useful for entry-level or reentry employees whose employment history is brief and scattered.
Disadvantage
· Raise concerns as to whether or not you are withholding information
· Can be a frustrating “read” for your potential employer
Combination résumé
· --A hybrid of the best from the functional and chronological résumé style
· --A functional résumé with a brief employment history added
· Skills and accomplishments are listed first, then the employment history
Best used when
· You have some relevant work experience that is of short duration
· Your education is an important part of your overall skills presentation
· Your functional skills are limited
· Your overall background reflects a range of unrelated skills
· You work history is not reflective of you as a stable worker
· Your work history reflects more time in other occupational areas
· Select the style that will highlight your best qualities and yet remain visually appealing to the reader.
· A resume advertises the applicants for interviews. Like good advertisement, a resume should follow four basic principles for effectiveness:
(1) Catch the reader’s attention
(2) Persuade the reader of your benefits or value
(3) Convince the reader with evidence
(4) Move the reader to acquire the product
· To follow these principles, a good resume should be effective in three aspects:
1) content
内容

Task two
· Rewrite this paragraph:
