Why do we study linguistics?Why do we study linguistics?Since linguistics describes language in all its aspects and formulates theories as to how it works, it certainly helps us to know our language better: how to use it correctly and appropriately, and why to use it in such and such a way.
Linguistics is closely related with many other sciences and is an indispensable basis for the study of some of them. For instance, the study of artificial intelligence, computer language and machine translation would be very difficult or even impossible without the knowledge of linguistics.
