B: Yes, you are supposed to pay it on time. If you don't furnish a tender bond on time, your tender will not be considered. Besides, you also should provide detailed engineering of the goods. A: Where do we submit the tender? B: To our office which is on the third floor. A: Oh, I see. By the way, is tender-opening done publicly? B: Yes. All the bidders will be invited to join us to supervise the tender-opening. A: And are the prices stated in the US dollar? B: Yes. According to international practice, bidders need to hand in a cash deposit or a letter of guarantee from a commercial bank. If one fails to win the award, the cash deposit or the letter of guarantee shall be returned to the bidder within one week after the decision on the award is declared. 2. The prequalification is open to all applicants from eligible source countries as defined in the World Bank’s Procurement Guidelines. Only those applicants who are determined pre-qualified through prequalification assessment, which would be conducted following the Guidelines and based on satisfactory evidence of previous experience and capacity including equipment, personnel and financial resources, could be invited to submit bids. 2
