Teaching procedure
Stage1: pre-listening
Step1: T guides S to understand the music style by playing some pieces of music. (Classical music, pop music, country music, rock music, jazz, folk music)
Step2: T guides S to learn the new words while playing the music. (classical, rock, jazz, folk , type)
Step3: T guides Ss to talk about what kind of music they like while presenting music styles. (T: Do you like rock music? Why do you like/dislike it?)
Step4: T guides Ss to understand some features of different type of music.( it’s too serious. It’s too noisy. It’s very popular)
Step5: T asks Ss to do 2 activity to check their understandings in different music feature.
Step6: T and Ss check answers together.
Step7: T asks Ss to make a prediction in Jane and Li Ming’ feelings about different music style.
Stage2: while-listening
Step1: T asks Ss to listen 1a and fill in the blanks about (used to ,now)
Step2: T and Ss check answers together.
Step3: T asks Ss to listen to 1a again and finish the rest of the blanks.(dislike, reason)
Step4: T and Ss check answers together.
Stage3: Post-listening
Step1: T asks Ss to listen to la and pay attention the pronunciation
Step2: Ss read the conversation together.
Step3: T asks Ss to read 1a and do 1c.
Step4: T guides Ss to summarize the expressions about like, just so-so, and dislike.
Step5: T guides Ss to understand the key point (it’s hard to say, not…at all, I don’t mind it.)
Step6 T asks Ss to make a dialogue.
61: Ss make a conversation about expressing their feelings in different music style.
6-2: Ss discuss the conversation in groups.
Step2. Ss make a conversation according to the picture
Step3. Ss report their conversation.
Stage4: Homework: preview Section C and finish the exercise of同步练习。
