Each issue is thematic, covering the topic by means of critical summaries, overviews and bibliographic citations. Every fourth or fifth issue surveys applied linguistics broadly, offering timely essays on language learning and pedagogy, discourse analysis, teaching innovations, second-language acquisition, computer-assisted instruction, language use in professional contexts, sociolinguistics, language policy, and language assessment, etc. Applied Linguistics publishes research into language with relevance to real world problems. It promotes principled and multidisciplinary approaches to research on language-related concerns in the various fields encompassed by applied linguistics. Canadian Modern Language Review publishes items of interest to teachers and researchers of French as a second language, English as a second language, and other foreign languages at all levels of instruction. Other features beyond articles and reviews: practical tips for the classroom, readers' opinions and reactions, calendar of forthcoming events, annual list of recently published Canadian materials. CALICO Journal is a quarterly publication devoted to the exploration of the new technologies as applied to language learning. This journal also provides timely information on events of interest to the technology-inclined language professional. Critical Inquiry in Language Studies is a peer-reviewed journal publishing articles in the overlapping fields of applied linguistics, language policy, language planning, modern languages and literatures, education, anthropology, sociology, psychology, and cultural studies. This journal focuses on critical discourse and research in language matters, broadly conceived, that is generated from qualitative, critical pedagogical, and emergent paradigms. ELT Journal publishes for all those who are professionally involved in the field of teaching English as a second or foreign language internationally. It is concerned with the fundamental practice factors that influence the evaluation of the profession as well as with the theoretical issues that are between the everyday concerns of teachers in their classrooms and the disciplines such as psychology, sociology and applied linguistics that may offer insights. English for Specific Purposes publishes articles, research notes, and book reviews on specialized varieties of English and ESP methodology. Topics of articles include: discourse analysis, second language acquisition in ESP contexts, needs assessment, curriculum development and evaluation, materials preparation, teaching and testing techniques, and the effectiveness of various research and pedagogical approaches in ESP contexts. English Teaching and Learning 英語教學 is the first scholarly journal in Taiwan dedicated to research on the teaching and learning of English as a second or foreign language, published by Department of English, National Taiwan Normal University (台灣師範大學). It publishes quality papers that contribute to all aspects of the profession, including course design, teaching materials, teacher training, teaching methods, language assessment, bilingual education, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and other related areas. Foreign Language Annals is the official journal of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and publishes bimonthly. This journal serves the professional interests of classroom instructors, researchers, and administrators concerned with the teaching of foreign languages at all levels of instruction. Preference is given to articles that report educational research or experimentation, that describe innovative and successful practice and methods, and/or that are relevant to the concerns and issues of the profession. International Journal of Applied Linguistics publishes articles that focus on the mediation between expertise about language and experience of language. This journal seeks to develop an awareness of the way language works, how it affects peoples' lives, and what interventions are desirable and feasible to make in differing domains of language use and learning.   International Review of Applied Linguistics in Language Teaching (IRAL) publishes articles in areas of research which concern first- and second-language acquisition, including naturalistic and instructed language learning, language loss, bilingualism, language contact, pidgins and creoles, language for specific purposes, language technology, mother-tongue education, lexicology, terminology and translation. All the articles are theoretically grounded and based on careful research and method. Journal of English for Academic Purposes publishes articles, book reviews, conference reports, and academic exchanges in the linguistic, sociolinguistic and psycholinguistic description of English as it occurs in the contexts of academic study and scholarly exchange itself. Topics include classroom language, teaching methodology, teacher education, assessment of language, needs analysis; materials development and evaluation, discourse analysis, acquisition studies in EAP contexts, research writing and speaking at all academic levels, the sociopolitics of English in academic uses and language planning. Journal of Second Language Writing is a refereed journal appearing four times a year, features theoretically grounded reports of research and discussion of central issues in second language and foreign language writing and writing instruction. Areas of interest include: personal characteristics and attitudes of L2 writers, L2 writers' composing processes, features of L2 writers' texts, readers' responses to L2 writing, assessment / evaluation of L2 writing contexts for L2 writing, and other topic clearly relevant to L2 writing and/or writing instruction. Language Acquisition: A Journal of Developmental Linguistics offers explanatory insights into and advance our knowledge of how language is acquired. Focusing primarily on experimental, linguistic, and computational approaches, the journal discusses the syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and phonology of language acquisition--merging the data of developmental psycholinguistics with recent discoveries in linguistic theory to yield a more adequate understanding of the growth of language. Language Learning: A Journal of Research in Language Studies is a scientific journal concerned with theoretical issues in language learning. It publishes articles on a broad range of topics including child, second and foreign language acquisition, language education, literacy, language representation in mind and brain, culture, cognition, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and intergroup relations. Language Teaching Research supports and develops investigation and research within the area of second or foreign language teaching. It covers a wide range of topics in the area of language teaching: program, syllabus, materials design, methodology, teaching of specific skills, and language for specific purposes.  Modern Language Journal focuses on questions and concerns about learning and teaching foreign and second languages. It publishes articles, research studies, editorials, reports, book reviews, and professional news and announcements pertaining to modern languages, including TESL. RELC Journal: A Journal of Language Teaching and Research in Southeast Asia, published in Singapore, presents information and ideas on theories, research, methods and materials related to language learning and teaching, especially, although not exclusively, in Southeast Asia. The journal publishes articles in such areas of current enquiry as first and second language learning and teaching, language and culture, discourse analysis, language planning, language testing, multilingual education, stylistics and translation. Second Language Research publishes theoretical and experimental papers on second language acquisition and second language performance. Each volume includes one special guest-edited article focusing on a current theme and specially commissioned review articles addressing major issues in the field, forming a useful resource for the research community. Studies in Second Language Acquisition provides a scientific discussion of issues in second and foreign language acquisition of any language. Each volume contains four issues, one of which is devoted to a current topic in the field. The other three issues contain articles dealing with theoretical topics, some of which have broad pedagogical implications, and reports of quantitative and qualitative empirical research. Other articles include replication studies, state-of-the-art articles, responses, and book reviews. System: A Journal for Educational Technology and Language Learning Systems is an international journal devoted to the applications of educational technology and applied linguistics to problems of foreign language teaching and learning. Attention is paid to all languages and to problems associated with the study and teaching of English as a second or foreign language. Taiwan Journal of TESOL 台灣英語教學期刊 is a new TESOL journal, jointly published by the Department of English, National Chengchi University (政治大學), and Crane Publishing (文鶴出版社), dedicated to the publication of research papers in areas of the study of teaching English to speakers of other languages. It also publishes review articles of books on TESOL and informal book announcements. TESOL Journal is a refereed publication of teaching and classroom research. It publishes articles that discuss teaching English as a second, foreign, or additional language to learners of all ages, in any setting. TESOL Journal invites manuscripts on a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to, current TESOL methodology, curriculum materials and design, teacher development, literacy, bilingual education, and classroom inquiry and research. TESOL Quarterly is a professional, refereed journal. It publishes articles on topics of significance to individuals concerned with the teaching of English as a second or foreign language and of standard English as a second dialect. Topics include curriculum design and development; instructional methods, materials, and techniques; issues in research and research methodology; testing and evaluation; professional preparation; language planning; and professional standards. Online Journals Asian EFL Journal is a refereed online journal for teaching and learning English as a foreign language. This on-line journal examines issues within the Asian EFL linguistic scene, and considers how traditional educational Approaches are integrated with or contrasted against what is arguably a very specialized and relatively new field of study. http://www.asian-efl-journal.com/ English Teaching Forum is a practical refereed quarterly journal published by the U.S. Department of State for teachers of English as a foreign or second language. Kavanagh教授讲座纪要 1. 首先将拟投稿的期刊作总体的评价,从期刊名、目录、编委成员及发表作者等多个角度把握期刊的权威性、专业性、综合性与影响力,从而使 作品更加有的放矢。 2. 论文最好采用电子版,这对编者和作者来说,都是最方便、经济、迅捷的方式。为尽量节省出版成本,提高文章被期刊接受的可能性,最好减少彩色图表,尽量采用黑白图表。 3. 投稿之前必须确认文章语句通顺,并且符合期刊的相关 格式 pdf格式笔记格式下载页码格式下载公文格式下载简报格式下载 规定。不能寄希望于期刊杂志投入很多精力为作者进行英文文字方面的修改和更正,如果可能的话,最好请英语专业人士加以检查。 4. 检索和引用的参考文献要全面并且包括最近半年内的文献,必须反映相关领域的最新进展,涵盖相关领域的权威文献。参考文献的质量可以体现论文的时效性和可信度。Kavanagh教授举例说明了这个问题:期刊的审稿人和高级编辑通常是文章相关领域国际知名的权威人士,如果文献中没有引用他们的论著或其他权威文献,就会对该作者的论文质量发生怀疑,从而导致稿件被拒收的可能。 5. 如果是多名作者共同创作的,作者排名的先后次序一经确定就不能再改动了。 6. 论文正文之前所附介绍性的短文很重要,应该做到简单明了,礼貌谦虚,内容包括该论文的特色、是否原创、是否二度投稿、是否一稿多投等。 7. 投稿后应耐心等待回复,如果60天后仍没有收到修改意见,发一封礼貌的email向编者询问是完全合理的。 8. 如果编者对论文的意见是“Reject”,也不必灰心丧气,先静下心来,仔细阅读信中的措辞是否留有一定的回旋余地。 9. 如果编者对论文的意见是“Reversion”,在充分尊重评审员的修改意见的同时,只要有足够有力的论据来支持自己的论点,原著作者也完全可以提出异议与评审员进一步探讨。 10. 作者在收到修改通知后一个月之内必须给予明确的回复,回复要有针对性,逐字逐句摘出修改前与修改后的句子(注明页码、段落、行数),并在论文正文中标上记号,这看上去虽是小事,但却体现出对编者的尊重,也会大大增加文章被迅速收录的可能性。在讲座过程中Kavanagh教授一再强调:“效率,效率,还是效率”,所谓“效率”就是——论文的内容应力求简洁有力,“Shorter is better”。参考文献应力求与时俱进,充分利用网络的方便快捷实现论著的时效性。 SCI、EI、ISTP、ISR简介 SCI、EI、ISTP、ISR是世界四大重要检索系统,其收录论文的状况是评价国家、单位和科研人员的成绩、水平以及进行奖励的重要依据之一。我国被四大系统收录的论文数量逐年增长 《SCI》(科学引文索引,Science Citation Index) 一、概述 SCI是美国《科学引文索引》的英文简称,其全称为:Science Citation Index,创刊于1961年,它是根据现代情报学家加菲尔德(Engene Garfield)1953年提出的引文思想而创立的。时至今日加菲尔德仍是SCI主编之一。SCI由ISI(Institute for Scientific Information Inc.)美国科学情报所出版,现为双月刊。ISI除了出版SCI外,还有联机型数据库SCISEARCH。ISTP(Index to Scientific&Technical Proceeding)也由其出版。 SCI是一部国际性的检索刊物,包括有:自然科学、生物、医学、农业、技术和行为科学等,主要侧重基础科学。所选用的刊物来源于94个类、40多个国家、SO多种文字,这些国家主要有美国、英国、荷兰、德国、俄罗斯、法国、日本、加拿大等,也收录一定数量的中国刊物。 SCI选择期刊比较科学,它运用引文数据 分析 定性数据统计分析pdf销售业绩分析模板建筑结构震害分析销售进度分析表京东商城竞争战略分析 然而,SCI就其本身而言,最重要的功能是帮助科技人员获取最需要的文献信息,这也是编辑该部索引的主要意图。SCI最大的优点是引文功能,在这里读者能很快地了解到某一作者的某篇论文是否被他人引用过,通过引文次数可以了解某一学科的发展过程。另外,使用SCI还可以了解到科学技术发展的最新信息,如:有没有关于某一课题的评论?某一理论是否已经被证实,某方面的工作有没有被扩展,某一方法有没有被改善,某一提法是否成立,某一概念是否具有创新性等等。因此,SCI也具有反映科技论文质量和学术水平的功能。 SCI的这些优点对科技工作者查阅最新文献、跟踪国际学术前沿、科研立项以及在具体的课题研究时及时了解国际动态都有很大帮助。 二、SCI选取论文情况 SCI选取期刊、论文 标准 excel标准偏差excel标准偏差函数exl标准差函数国标检验抽样标准表免费下载红头文件格式标准下载 较其他刊物严格,已成为公认事实。SCI每年收录我国科技论文不等,究其原因相当复杂,有语言、政治、经济、科技发展规律本身的原因,也有其严格执行选刊和论文选取标准的原因。SCI每年都要充实和调整使用刊物种数。 经有关部门调查指出,SCI选刊依据主要有三方面:编辑质量、引文指标和专家评审,其中引文指标最为客观。经统计1995年SCI收录我国6种期刊的影响因子(即期刊论文被引用的比率)都不足0.4,平均不足0.2 3,而同年SCI收录的3400多种期刊的平均影响因子约为1左右,其中影响因子最高者达到48.9,可见我国期刊的引文指标距世界先进水平的差距之大,这恐怕是影响我国期刊人选 SCI的重要原因之一。 面对现实如何提高投稿入选率,我们觉得应从两方面引起注意: 1、力争向国外投稿。SCI选刊情况虽在不断变化,但它仍有自己的核心圈刊物。据1996年中国科学技术信息研究所(简称:中信所)发表的年度研究报告显示,1996年SCI收录我国论文期刊种数虽减少,但排位却由15升至14名。增长的原因,主要是我国论文进入SCISEARCH的期刊数量增多了。从进入SCI核心圈的8200篇论文看,有91%是发表在国外期刊上,只有9%发表在国内期刊上。据专家分析,几年内国内期刊入选种数不会有更大的突破。因此,论文外投越多,人选机率越大。 2、注意论文的质量和规范化。据中信所信息分析中心1993年调查结果指出:提高入选率关键在于论文内容和学术水平是否能引起对方足够的重视。此外,SCI非常注意论文格式的标准化程度,例如:题目、作者、机构名称等是否清晰,参考文献著录的是否齐全(包括:参考文献的作者、论文题目、发表在什么期刊上及发表的年、卷、期、页、号等)。总之,由于种种原因,我们无法改变被他人选择这一事实,但经过不懈努力主宰命运的仍将是我们自己。 《EI》(工程索引,Engineering Index) 一、概述 美国工程索引(The Engineering Index-- EI)是一著名的多学科性的工程文献检索工具。1884年创刊,现由美国工程情报公司(The Engineering Information Inc.)编辑出版,至今已有110余年的历史。一个多世纪以来, EI不断完善,现已成为世界级的权威检索体系,并成为国际通用的文献统计源。 《工程索引》名为索引( INDEX)实为文摘( ABSTRACT),主要报道工程技术信息,内容包括:化工、农业、生物工程、环境、地质、土木、燃料工程、石油、冶金、矿产、仪表数据、工业管理、核能、宇航工程、汽车与机车、控制工程、电工与电子以及软科学与软件等。EI所摘录的工程论文选择性强,对新学科和边缘学科反应迅速。 EI有多种版本,如: 关于书的成语关于读书的排比句社区图书漂流公约怎么写关于读书的小报汉书pdf 本型、光盘型,还有国际联机的机读型。这些为读者有效地利用EI提供了便利。EI收录的文献类型包括:期刊、图书、会议论文、技术报告等,年收录期刊3 500余种,会议录2 000余种。其中有10%的文献来自非英语国家。 EI以检索程序简便、直观、信息量大而倍受科技人员的青睐,科技人员经常浏览EI,可以从中发现那些与自己有关的科技信息,掌握本学科发展动向,把自己的科学实践纳入世界性的总趋势中。 作为世界范围的工程文献检索体系,EI更关注各国工程技术类期刊及论文,不断更新期刊品种。我们曾对EI收录我国期刊的10年情况做过统计,发现10年中EI收录我国期刊总数虽已达7 0种~80种,而连续10年以上被收录的期刊仅有10余种,大部分期刊处于变化起伏状态,有的甚至被淘汰。EI选刊的宗旨是学术严谨,并以水平高、实用性强、质量上乘、出版及时为准则。尽管当今世界信息爆炸,仍严把质量关,做到宁缺勿滥。 二、EI与SCI收录我国论文情况比较 EI收录我国论文比SCI多,原因在于: 1.SCI收录我国论文数仅为总数的1%,其中所收录论文的85%~90%是在国外期刊上发表的。而EI收录我国论文数(除去会议论文)大约占总数的3%~5%,在被收录的我国论文中,有 50%~60%是发表在 EI收录的国内期刊上,而另4 0%~ 5 0%发表在国外期刊上。 2.EI学科分布与我国强项学科较为接近。而SCI学科分布侧重点,首先是基础科学,基础科学中又以生物学占较大比例,其次是医学。换句话说,生命科学占的比重较大,而工程技术占的比重较小。从几年SCI收录我国论文看,物理、化学、工程技术等是我们的强项,而当今世界上的热门学科--生命科学似乎是我们的弱项。据统计我们生物学、医学、农业等在国内产生的论文并不少,而被SCI收录的少。 3.SCI入选期刊是以其引文指标来确定,引文率不高的期刊入选的可能性就低;相反EI选刊标准未把此项作为主要标准,而是综合其它标准来确定选刊原则,这是EI选刊宽于SCI的原因所在。 总之,就我国目前情况看,工程技术类期刊与论文的质量和水平已得到世界认可(指EI),但基础研究类与世界先进水平还存在一定差距。 《ISTP》(科技会议录索引,Index to Scientific &Technical Proceedings) 创刊于1978年,由美国科学情报学会编辑出版,会议录收录生命科学、物理与化学科学、农业、生物和环境科学、工程技术和应用科学等学科,其中工程技术与应用科学类文献约占35%。 《ISR》(科学评论索引,Index to Scientific Reviews) 创刊于1974年,由美国科学情报研究所编辑出版,收录世界各国2700余种科技期刊及300余种专著丛刊中有价值的评述论文。高质量的评述文章能够提供本学科或某个领域的研究发展概况、研究热点、主攻方向等重要信息,是极为珍贵的参考资料。 美国科学情报研究所(ISI)还编辑出版以下两种重要的引文工具: 《SSCI》(社会科学引文索引,Social Science Citation Index) http://sunweb.isinet.com,为美国科学情报研究所(ISI)建立的综合性社科文献数据库,涉及经济、法律、管理、心理学、区域研究、社会学、信息科学等。收录50个语种的1700多种重要的国际性期刊,累计约350万条记录。 《AHCI》(艺术人文引文索引,Arts & Humanities Citation Index) 为美国科学情报研究所(ISI)建立的综合性艺术与人文类文献数据库,包括语言、文学、哲学、亚洲研究、历史、艺术等内容。收录1400多种国际权威的期刊,累计200余万条记录。 学术水平角逐 高等学校是培养高级专门人才的主要阵地,也是最能展现一个国家科学技术水平的场所。从中信所信息分析中心连续几年对我国科技论文情况的统计看,我国高等学校发表的论文数,约占全国科技论文数的60%以上,超过科研机构,而且绝对数量也在逐年提高。这充分显示了高校在国家科学技术和学术研究领域中的实力。但与世界名牌大学相比,我们还有一定差距。 1993年中信所曾就国内外大学做过对比,他们按国际惯例,采用世界许多国家的通行方法,以19 8 9年SCI作统计源,排列出世界论文数最多的前200所大学名单,以此说明我国大学与国外大学科学技术研究水平的差距。由学校统计显示,拥有最多论文的哈佛大学论文数为5 548篇;位居200名的德国卡尔·马克思大学论文数达593篇。而我国截止到1996年高校最高时期的论文数也仅有570篇(见表3)。通过比较可以看到,我国与国外著名大学的差距还是很大。 表3  1991年~1996年SCI收录我国高校论文最高数统计 时 间199119921993199419951996 论文数192225232325452570 校 名北京大学南京大学南京大学南京大学南京大学南京大学 当然,仅简单地用科技论文数量来评价学术水平还不全面。科学研究水平应从各方面来衡量。尽管如此,科技论文是科技研究和 发展过程中形成的知识形态产物。基础研究成果是以论文或著作的发表来体现,科技论文的数量和质量是衡量一个地区的科技水平和社会作用的重要尺度。 为使学术水平评定更趋合理,从1995年起,中信所根据统计中掌握的数据,对我国高校论文情况采用综合评定的方法进行评估,使评定标准更为科学、客观、可信。这种方法选用了四项指标: 1. 论文总数这是通常采用的一般指标,论文多表示研究成果多; 2. 发表论文的期刊数,期刊种类多,表示该单位的研究领域宽; 3. 本单位主办的期刊论文在总论文数中的比例,这个比例越小表示这个单位的论文分布越广,
