Inourpreviouswork,mediumvinylpolybutadienerubber synthesizedbyTiC14/MgC12modifiedwithdifferentkindsand levelsofalcoholshadbeenreported[.Inthiscommunica—
tion.mechanicalpropertiesofrawrubberandvulcanizateof polybutadienerubbersynthesizedbyTiC14/MgC12modified withdifferentlevelsofn—octanolwerestudied.Whenn—octa—
nol/TiC14(moleratio)were20,25,30,35,themassfraction of1,2-unitofpolybutadienerubberwere45%,55%,which
fellwithintherangeofmediumvinylpolybutadienerubber. Themechanicalpropertiesofpolybutadienerubberwerecom—
paredwiththoseofpolybutadienerubberBR9000shownin Table1andTable2,respectively.

dienerubbersynthesizedbymodifiedcatalystwereobviously higherthanthatofBR9000.Therewere1.2一unitandafrac—
tionoftrans一1,4-unitcrystalinpolybutadienerubber,which keptthemechanicalpropertiesandavoidedthedisadvantage ofcoldflowasBR9000.
AsshowninTable2,themechanicalpropertiesofpoly- butadienerubbervulcanizatesynthesizedbymodifiedcatalyst withn—octanol/TiC14(moleratio)30werehigherthanthose ofotherpolybutadienerubberandBR9000vulcanizate.Espe- cially,thewetskidresistanceindexofthepolybutadienerub- bervulcanizatefisedobviouslycomparedwiththatofBR9000 vulcanizate.
Itcanbepredictedthatthemediumvinylpolybutadiene rubbersynthesizedbythismodifiedcatalystcanbeusedin high—poweredtireswhichhaveoutstandingwetskidresistance indexandotherexcellentmechanicalproperties. Reference:
