The design event especially for students thst16 to 21 November, Hall 5B, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre This month Hong Kong will host the biggest design event in Asia this year – and there are wonderful free opportunities for our young design talent to take part. As part of Business of Design Week 2004, the annual Hong Kong Design Centre organised conference, exhibition and forum, we are also launching ‘Design to Make’ a special design event for students. BODW brings together some of the biggest names in the design world today including this year Philippe Starck, Tadao Ando and Frank Gehry. The event not only targets industry decision makers and the design profession who attend a high powered conference but also Hong Kong’s future design talent who are invited, free of charge, to visit a special exhibition, series of workshops and meet the designers sessions. These include: , Stimulating design exhibitions of special interest to students , Great presentations from Hong Kong’s best professional young talent , Informative sessions to see how fashion, graphics, multi-media, product and interior designs really happen , Designer interactive workshops with professionals – stimulating fun for students , Talking to design students studying at HK Poly U and IVE and their tutors Just one week from now our future young design stars can learn about design at first hand from the some of the trendiest young professionals in Hong Kong. We know they’ll think it’s great and we urge you to let your young audience know about this opportunity. ‘Design to Make’ is organized by Hong Kong Design Centre and co-organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, the School of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Departments of Design at IVE in Shatin and Kwun Tong. The event takes place within the exhibition area of Hall 5B and it’s completely free of charge.
