BecauseyouhaveshownstrongleadershipoftheAlliance.AndyouhavedevelopedtheAllianceintoanevenmorecapableorganisationprovidingsecurity,providingstability,andalsobuildingthebondsbetweenEurope, UnitedStates,Canada–thetransatlanticbonds.SoweareallgratefulforthatandwethankyoufortheleadershipyouhaveshownforsomanyyearsinNATO. Asweallknow,NATOisnotjustasecurityAlliance.ItisafamilyofvalueswhichreachesacrosstheAtlanticanddefendsalmostonebillioncitizensofourAlliedcountries. Andwemustcontinuetostandupforthosevalues.ThisSummithasprovidedanimportantplatformandanimportantdirectionforthefuture.WeneedtoinvestpoliticallyandfinanciallyintotheAlliance. AndIlookforwardtotakingupthepostonthe1stofOctober.AndIlookforwardtoworkingwithall28AlliestokeepourAlliancestrongintothefuture.
