关于孩子早熟，世俗化的英文辩论稿 Should we be worried about the precocity of children? First, I’d love to define the precocity of children; the precocity here means some negative social ideas in children’s mind, like the prejudice on class and wealth, the adult friendship and concept of bureaucracy, and so on. There’s a typical example in reality, I hope all of you have heard of the little team leader with five lines on his arm. The little boy is said to have read newspapers since two years old, and develop a habit of watching CCTV1 since then, which is one of his hobbies now, according to himself. I think most of us will feel shocked, and then, we wonder is he just a child? Where is his childhood? Well, I’ll say that it just happens around us, and this is what I want to talk today. In my opinion, the education way of the parents is too terrible; it’s just kind of child abuse. Why am I saying that? We all know that children are like white papers, they’re so stainless, that they need the adults drawing very carefully. Though the parents’ intention is good for the child, but we still can’t deny that there’re several things lost in the parents’ mind. First, we should realize that children are so innocent that they need to grow up in a pure environment. That way they’ll grow in a healthy way. They’re also tender and delicate, because their mind, intelligence and psychology are still developing, and they’re not competent enough to judge the society thing. They’re in a period where they’ll be affected so easily that if influenced, they must be in a wrong way. Take the Ling Gang incident for example; the boy after crashed down two girls shouted to the police that my father is li gang. It raises a large wave in society, and caused us to think deeper in children’s education. We can see from it that the boy was exposed to the concept of class too early so that he can’t judge it right or wrong. Second is that childhood is a period where children form their personality. But it often happens that some children use money or something to get in touch with other classmates or even teachers so as to run for the monitor or Triple-A Student (also called three good student) successfully. It indicates that educating children some adult making friends’ way lets children learn how to adapt themselves to others to reach their aims. It will eventually make them lose themselves, and grow up to a person without characteristic. Additionally, educating children with social concept will also eliminate (remove) children’s imagination and creation, and also the way they make friend let them can make no indeed friends, as a result, they’ll be lonely for lifetime. Finally, I want to talk about what cause the phenomenon. The direct one may be the parents, because they desperately wish their children to be successful, and hope their children will not suffer cheating outside, but they just ignore the children’s ability to understand it all. Another one may be our education system, the Chinese education system nowadays is lacking of spiritual education, and it just stress the importance of grade of awards, and it’s becoming the tool for pursuing profits. And the other one is the mass media, they’re the one bring bureaucracy and concept of class into children’s life. Again said that we should try our best to build a pure place for children to grow up.
