Unit 3 How do you make a banana milk shake? Teaching aims:
1. to describe a process and follow instruction
2. to learn about imperative countable and uncountable nouns. 3. to learn to use “ how much / how many do you / we…”
4. to ask and describe how to make something.
5. to learn the differences between countable nouns and uncountable nouns.

Step one. Warming up

Step two presentation
1. learn
learn new words like “peel, put in, pour…into, turn on, drink, and make sentences with the words”
2. learn
show some pictures about how to make a banana shake and ask them order the right number.
3. learn
make a shopping list if they want to make a banana milk shake. And make them in two groups according to countable nouns and uncountable nouns.
e. g. yogurt blender
milk banana
ice cream
sugar
Step three presentation
1. listen
listen and answer the questions. One questions should be found
“ how many bananas do we need to make a banana milk shake?”
2. read and say
read after the tape and say. At the same time. pay attention to some words like “first,
then, next, finally”
3. act
show some picture that how to make a banana milk shake, and some key words for
the conversation. Let students try to say the whole process out. Like: A: I’m hungry! Let’s …
B: how do …?
A: Well, first peel …
B: Three bananas?
A: yes, then cut …
B: Ok. I’m finished.
A: Now, put …blender. Then pour …
B: is this enough milk?
A: I guess so. Next,turn…. Finally, pour…and….

Step two presentation

how to make a fruit salad? What do we need. Ask students say what we should
need as many as they can
2. listen and say
listen to the tape again. Fill in blanks. Then show some key words for making fruit
salad at the same time show the right pictures.
3. writing
show four pictures how to make apple salad. Then write the process. Step three practice.
1. fill in blanks with the words. Section A 3a. and read 2. pairwork
look at the instructions in 3a again. Then look at these pictures how to make
propcorn.
3. game
make two teams. Write a recipe. Then cut it up. Then other team has to up the
recipe in order.
Step four group work
1. would you like to make a pizza? What would you like to put into your pizza?
Make a list for it in the form. And ask your friend if he / she likes the ingredients
you choose.

Step one warming-up
Guess what their teacher wants to have for lunch (at the same time. show six pictures on the screen like “noodles, turkey, rice, hamburger, sandwich, dumplings)
Step two presentation

“sandwich” and “what ingredients are there in a turkey sandwich?” at the same time show the big sandwich and learn “slices of bread, butter, tomato, slices of turkey, onion, some relish…)
2. say
how do you make a turkey sandwich? Show pictures one by one. And learn new phrases and words at the same time such as “put …on, a slice of …” “cut…up” three slices of” “two teaspoons of … lettuce” etc.
3. act
let students say how to make a sandwich with the words “first, next, then, finally”
