英文)PAGEPAGE57PagePAGE\*MERGEFORMAT57of55Revision0Method-Statement-for-Road-Works-(道路施工方案英文)METHODSTATEMENTFORROADWORKSTABLEOFCONTENTSScope3PermitsandLicenses3Methodology(SequenceofWorkForSurfaceWaterDrainageWorks)3HealthandSafety31RiskAssessment35EnvironmentControl39InspectionandTesting39SupervisionResponsibilities40Resources40DrawingsandSketches42ReferenceDocumentation42Attachments43SCOPEThepurposeofthisMethodStatementistodescribetheMethodologyinvolvedinconstructionofRoadWorksinaccordancewithprojecttechnicalspecifications,internationalstandardsandcodes,localrulesandregulations(QCS-2010).Thismethodstatementwillcoverthefollowingworks:EarthWorksPreparationtoRoadFormationGranularSub-basePreparationWorksAsphaltWorksPERMITSANDLICENSESThePermitsandLicenserequiredforcommencementoftheworkshallbeobtainedpriorstartinganysiteactivities,thepermitsandlicenseshallbeobtainedfromtheFollowing:ElectricityandWaterAuthorityTel-communicationOperatorMunicipalityGovernmentMinistryofEnvironmentPublicWorkAuthority(Roads)SEQUENCEOFWORKSFORROADSSitepreparationPriortocommencementofwork,thecontractorshallobtaintherelevantworkpermitsfromClientThecontractorshallundertakeclearingofsiteinordertoremoveanyexistingvegetation;steel,concrete,unusedbuildingsidentifiedfordemolition,pipingdebris,loosewindblownsandandother foreignmaterials.Allexistingstructures,foundations,etc.asindicatedaboveshallbeentirelydemolished,removed,transportedanddisposedofbythecontractortoadebrisyarddesignatedbyClient.Allsoftspotsleftshallbefilledwithsuitablematerialandcompactedasperspecification.Excavatedmaterial,ifany,andsuitableandapprovedbyClientfor backfillingshallbetransportedandplacedinfillareaswithinthelimitsofthework.SurveyandSettingOutSurveyMarkersSurveyMarkersshallbedurable,appropriatetolocationandintendeduse.SurveyMarkersshallbeclearlyidentifiableandprotectedfromconstructiontraffic.ForinstallationofaSurveyMarkerintoreinforcedconcrete,theJV'swillensurethatsteelreinforcementbarsaretobeavoided.EitherremovableanchorsorepoxyadhesiveshallbeusedasthemethodsoffixingBenchmarksareaparticulartypeofSurveyMarkersusedinthecontrolofelevation.Benchmarksshallhaveadomedsurfaceforunambiguousstaffplacement.PrimaryBenchmarksshallcompriseastainlesssteelboltsecurelyplacedverticallyintoaconcreteslab,orhorizontallyintoacolumn.Theprotrusionshallnotposeasafetyhazard.SurveyMarkersusedforhorizontalcontrolshallhaveanunambiguouspointabove(orbelow)whichasurveyinstrumentcanbepreciselycentered.Thepointshallcompriseeitherapunchmarkortheintersectionof2linesformingacross.Cross-headedroadnail(75mmlong)completewithacoloredwashershallgenerallybeusedasaSurveyMarker.ControlObservation,AdjustmentandPresentationHomogeneoushorizontalandverticalsurveycontrolisrequiredpriortoanysettingout.Surveycontrolshallevolvefromthewholetotheparts.Wherepractical,allsurveypointswithinahorizontalsurveycontrolnetworkshallbeoccupiedandobservedfrom.Forcedcenteringtechniquesshallbeusedthroughout.Aroundofangularobservationsshallcomprisethemeanofobservationstakenonbothfacesofthetotalstation.Aminimumnumberof4roundsofhorizontalandverticalanglesshallbeobservedateachinstrumentsetup.Forcontrolwork,theangularspreadofhorizontalanglesshallnotexceed3’’ofarc.Distancesshallbemeasuredinbothdirections.Allrawdatapertainingtoeachsetupshallbeelectronicallyrecorded.Surveycontrolshallincluderedundantobservations.Observationnetworksshallbeprocessedusingthemethodofleastsquaresadjustmentandtheresultingresidualstotheobservationsshallbeinspectedformagnitude.Anylargeresidualsorerrorellipsesshallbeexaminedandappropriateremedialactionshallbetaken.Preciselevelingshallbedoublerunusingequalbackandforesightsateachinstrumentsetup.Levelingsightsshallneverexceed30meters.Onthegroundsurface,theContractorshallestablishstablebenchmarksadjacenttothesitesothatthedistancebetweenadjacentbenchmarksdoesnotexceed250meters.Heightdatumtransferaccuracyshallbebetterthan2mmina30mdeepshaft.Thetransferofheightdatumshallbebyvariousindependentmeans.azimuthtransferfromsurfacetoundergroundshallbebetterthan3“ofarcandpointtransfershallbeaccuratetowithin2mm.Suchtransfersshallbebyvariousindependentmeans.At3monthintervals,theContractorshallconductacompletesurveyofallexistingsurveycontrol.Abound,A4sizesurveycontrolreportshallbesubmittedtotheEngineerforacceptancewithin2weeksofcompletingthefieldwork.TheconventionadoptedshallcompriseStationName,Easting,Easting,NorthingandElevationreadingfromlefttorightreportshallcontainthefollowinginformationreportshallcontainthefollowinginformation:datesofsurvey,fixedsurveycontrolandvalues,specificationofinstrumentationused,calibrationstatusofinstrumentationused,observationalacceptancecriteria,listoffinaladjustedco-ordinatesfindingsandconclusion.Attachedtothereportshallbetheobservations(A4printoutofelectronicbookingsheetorcustomizedspreadsheet),adjustmentwithresidualsandstationerrorellipses,tableofdifferencesinmmfrompreviousco-ordinatesandelevations(ifapplicable),adrawingclearlyshowinglayoutofschemeandmeasuredquantitiesandfinalco-ordinatesintabularform.GeneralSettingOutTheContractorshallcarryoutacomprehensivelevelsurveyoftheContractareabeforeanyworkcommencesonthesitethatmayalteroriginalgroundlevels.Pre-computationshallbecarriedoutpriortoanysettingout.Forrailprojects,theeffectsofcantandthrowshallbeincorporatedintopre-computationwhereverrelevant.Allpre-computationshallbereadilyavailableinaspreadsheetformatforuseonsite.Themethodofsettingoutforeachparticularelementoftheworkshallcommensuratewiththerequiredaccuracy,themethodofconstruction,andshallbeappropriateforsiteconditions.Inthesettingoutprocess,allelevationtransferconductedbylevelingshallstartonanestablishedbenchmarkandfinishonadifferentbenchmark.Ifasignificantdisclosureisdetected,thereasonshallbedeterminedandthenecessarycorrectiveactiontaken.Aftertheerectionoftheformworkandpriortoconcreting,asurveycheckshallbecarriedoutontheformworktoensurethatthesettingouthasbeendonecorrectly.Aspreadsheetshallbeusedinallinstancestotabulatethedifference(oroffset)inmmbetweentheactualsetout(oras-built)co-ordinatesfromthedesignco-ordinates.Incaseswherethedesignisanalignment,offsetstothealignmentshallbecomputedforeachsurveyedpoint.WorksGeneralTheJVwillcarryoutallearthworkinsuchamannerastopreventerosionorslipsandshalllimitworkingfacestosafeslopesandheight.TheJVwillensurethatallsurfaceshaveatalltimessufficientgradientstoenablethemtoshedwaterwithoutcausingerosion.HaulingofmaterialfromcuttingsortheimportationoffillmaterialtotheembankmentsorotherareasoffillshallproceedonlywhensufficientcompactionplantisoperatingattheplaceofdepositiontoensurecompliancewiththerequirementsofClient.ConstructiontrafficotherthanthatrequiredfortheexcavationandtrimmingshallnotusethesurfaceofthebottomofacuttingunlessthecuttingisinRockortheContractormaintainsthelevelofthebottomsurfaceatleast300mmaboveformationlevel.Anydamagetothesub-gradearisingfromsuchuseofthesurfaceshallbemadegoodbytheContractorathisownexpensewithmaterialhavingthesamecharacteristicsasthematerialwhichhasbeendamaged.TheJVwillarrangefortherapiddispersalofwatershedontotheearthworksorcompletedformationduringconstruction,orwhichenterstheearthworksfromanysourceTheJVwillprovidewherenecessarytemporarywatercourses,ditches,drains,pumpingorothermeansofmaintainingtheearthworksfreefromwaterTheJVwilltakespecialcarethatnaturallyoccurringmaterialswithinthesitearenotrenderedunsuitablebyhismethodofworking.Areasofcuttingsandexcavationshallbesoworkedthatrainfallisconductedrapidlyawayfromtheexposedmaterialandattimesofexpectedheavyrainthatthecuttingareasareprotectedbyappropriatemethodsofworkinganddrainageprovisions.ofEarthWorkMaterialThefollowingdefinitionsofearthworksshallapplytothisandotherclausesoftheSpecificationinwhichreferenceismadetothedefinitions:TopSoil'shallmeanthetoplayerofsoilthatcansupportvegetation.SuitableMaterial'shallcompriseallthatisacceptableinaccordancewiththeContractforuseintheworksandwhichiscapableofbeingcompactedinthemannerspecifiedinprojectTechnicalSpecificationstoformastablefillhavingsideslopesasindicatedonthedrawings.NotSuitableMaterial'shallmeanotherthansuitablematerialandshallinclude:Materialfromswamps,marshesorbogs;Peat,logs,stumpsorotherorganicmatterandperishableandtoxicmaterials;Materialsusceptibletospontaneouscombustion.Clayofliquidlimitexceeding80and/orplasticityindexexceeding55.‘Rock'shallmeanhardmaterialfoundinledgesormassesinitsoriginalposition,whichwouldnormallyhavetobeloosenedeitherbyblastingorbypneumatictools,orifexcavatedbyhand,bywedgesandsledgehammers.‘Rock’shallalsoincludeallsolidbouldersordetachedpiecesofrockexceedingm3insizeintrenchesorexceedingm3ingeneralexcavation.ExcavationExcavationwillbecarriedouttothedimensions,lines,levelsandslopesasindicatedontheIFCDrawings.IftheJVexcavatesdeeperthanthedepthsshownontheDrawingsorasinstructedbytheClient,thenheshallfillinsuchexcessivedepthswithacceptablematerialstothesatisfactionoftheClient.Thebottomofallexcavationsshallbefreefrommudandwater,trimmedclean,protectedfromtheeffectsofweatherandthoroughlycompactedandconsolidatedTheJVwillberesponsibletoexcavatetothetopofsoftordefectivesoilbelowtheformationlevelandbackfillwithSuitableMaterial.Suchbackfillwillbewellcompactedinlayersofacceptedthicknessbyapprovedmannersandmeans.andCutSlopesUnlessotherwisespecified,noportionoftheearthcuttingshallvaryfromthespecifiedororderedformationlevelbyanamountexceeding150mm.Inthecaseofcutslopes,noportionofthecompletedslopeshallvarybyanamountexceeding100mm(measuredatrightanglestotheslope).Inallcuttings,whetherinearthorrock,undulationsinthegeneralplaneoftheslopewillnotbepermitted.Unlessotherwisespecified,excavationinrockshallextendtoatleast150mmbelowthespecifiedformationlevelandbackfilledwithapprovedmaterials.Anyoverhanging,looseorunstablematerialshallberemoved.Theexcavationshallbesoarrangedthattheworkingareasareadequatelydrainedthroughouttheperiodofconstruction.Incuttingwherethestrataconsistsofearthoverlayingrockwhichisrequiredtobecuttoaslopeof1(H):2(V)orsteeper,thefaceoftherockshallbegivenitsappropriateslopeuptothejunctionoftherockandearthandthelattershallbestrippedtoformabench900mmwideandslopedtothegradientasspecified.ofExcavatedAreaContinuouslymonitorthedimensions/levelofexcavationtoavoidoverCuttingifanyaccidentalovercuttingtakesplace,fillandcompactwithSuitablematerialtothedesiredlevel.Removeanyundesirablematerial(vegetation,organicsoilsetc.)Encounteredduringexcavationandfillwithapprovedgranularmaterial.TakenecessarymeasurestokeeptheexcavationfreefromwaterbyDe-wateringwhereverrequired.ArrangeshoringsothatitdoesnotinterferewiththeprogressofworkandFunctioningofnearbyfacilitiesasworkproceeds,removetheshoringcarefullywithoutcausinganydangertotheexcavation.Ifanyaccidentalslipsorsettlementoccursintheexcavatedarea,Properlyfillbyselectedfillorwithmassconcrete.theSidesofExcavationWherevertherearechancesofsliding,properlyslopesidesofExcavation.TrimtheslopesbyhandtouniformbattersasshownontheIFCDrawings.Trimanyrockorboulderappearinginthefaceoftheslope,andremoveitaltogether,ifitseemsunstable.Ifanyrockisremoved,filltheresultingvoidwithcompactedmaterial.‘ImportedRockFill'shallbecleanwell-gradedquarrywasteprovidedbytheContractorfromsourcesoutsidetheSite.Itshallberesistanttoweathering,totheacceptanceoftheClient.Themaximumsizeparticlesinthematerialshallpassthrougharigid200mmsquaregridandthelargestdimensionofanyparticleshallnotexceed300mm.Thematerialshallnothavemorethan10%ofitsparticlesmmBSsieve.‘FillMaterial'shallmeanSuitableMaterialforbackfillingwiththeexceptionofRockandImportedRockFill‘SpecialFillMaterial’shallmeanSuitableMaterialofwhichatleast95percentshallpassa125mmBSsieveandatleast90percentshallpassthe75mmBSsieve.Upto5percentofthematerialmaybemadeupfromisolatedbouldersofmaximumdimensionsnotexceedinghalfthethicknessofthelayerofmaterialbeingplaced.Liquidlimitnotexceeding35plasticityindexnotexceeding12(h)‘SelectedFill'shallbewellgradedgranularnaturalsands,gravel,crushedrock,crushedconcrete,wellburntshaleorothermaterialsacceptedbytheClient.Thematerialpassinga425micronBSsieve,whentestedinaccordancewithBS1377,shallhaveaplasticityindexoflessthan6%.‘ImportedFillMaterial'shallbeFillMaterialsuppliedbytheContractorfromasourceoutsidetheSiteandacceptedbytheClient's.CompactingandLevellingtheFillDuringcompaction,maintaintheoffillmaterial,usually+/-3PercentofOMC.IfRequired,addcleanwatertothefillmaterialinorderTomaintainthenecessaryAchieveminimumdensityofspecifiedofsoil,byusingroller/Platecompactororanyotherapprovedequipment.Aroundnew(orexistingremaining)concretefoundationsorotherSubstructuresdoNotcompactbyrolling.Instead,usemechanicalRammersorplatecompactorstoCompactthespaceinvicinityofConcretestructure.Aftercompaction,levelthesurfacefreefromundulationsusingsuitableEquipment.MaterialsforSub-baseAggregateforSub-BaseFineaggregate(Passingthemmsieve)shallconsistofcrushedmineralaggregateand/ornaturalsand.Thefineaggregateshallbecleanandfreefromorganicmatter,clay—balksandotherextraneousordetrimentalmaterials.Theratioofaggregatespassingtheramsieveshallnotexceed66%oftheportionpassingthemmsieve.Thematerialpassingthemmsieveshallhaveamaximumliquidlimitof25%andtheplasticityindexshallnotexceed6%.Wherethesourceoffineaggregatedoesnotmeettheaboverequirements,withtheEngineer'sapproval,addfineaggregateandfillertocorrectthegradationortochangethecharacteristicsofthematerialpassingthemmsievesoastomeettherequirements.SuchadditionalmaterialshallbeaddedinamannerwhichensuresacompletelyhomogeneousmaterialAggregateforSub-BaseCoarseaggregate(retainedonthemmsieve)shallconsistofcrushedstonecrushedgravelwithminimumof50%byweighthavingatleastonefracturedface.Theflakinessindexoftheaggregateshallnotexceed35%whentestedinaccordancewithBS812.TheLosAngelesAbrasionLoss,asdefinedbyASTMC131/C535,shallbe40%maximum.Theaggregatetypeforthesub-baseshallbecrushedlimestone.Thecoarseaggregateshallbehardanddurableandfreefromorganicmatter,clayandotherextraneousordetrimentalmaterials.Coarseaggregateshallhaveamaximumlossof20%bythemagnesiumsulphatesoundnesstestwhenperformedasperASTMC88for5cycles.TheminimumCBRvalueobtainedwhenpreparingsamplesofaggregatebaseandaggregateSub-baseatoptimummoisturecontentandat100%relativecompactionandsoakingthemfor4daysshallbe80%and60%;respectively.Themaximumpermittedswellshallhe%and%;respectivelyMixDesignforSub-baseAggregatessub-baseshallconsistofcrashedmineralaggregatesornaturalmineralaggregatesofthedesignatedgradationandthickness.ThemaximumdrydensityandtheOptimummoisturecontentofthematerialshallascertainedasperthetestproceduregiveninCML12-97andthisshallbeusedtoassessthedegreeofcompactionofthemixafterrollingThepavementlayerdesignatedassub-base,thematerialshallconformtoClassBorClassCTheparticlesizeshallbedeterminedbythewashingandsievingmethodofBS812:Part.103.Fineandcoarseaggregatesforsub-baseshallbecombinedgradationofmaterialthatmeetstherequirementsofthespecificationfordensityandotherproperties,TheaggregatebasesshallconformtotheclassAorclassBgradationandtheaggregatesub-baseshallconformtotheclassCgradation,asgiveninthefollowingTable:BSSievemPercentPassingClassAClassBClassC36100--5090-100100-60-9070-100-2524-7755-851002035-7050-8090-1001026-6040-7050-85515-4030-6035-6510-2620-5025-505-1510-3015-302-195-155-15Immediatelycomplywithsuchinstructionswithoutbeingentitledtoanyindemnitiesorextensionsasaresultofsuchinstructions.AnyequipmentorplantshallnotbeusedbeforeobtainingtheapprovaloftheClientandtoengageskilledAndtrainedoperators,mechanicsandlabourtocarryouttheworks.PlantGenerallyThemachineryandtoolsusedinconstructingthevariousitemsinvolvedinasphaltworksshallbeingoodworkingconditionandfreeofoilandfuelleaksThisvariousitemsshallbemaintainedandpreservedforthewholedurationofthework.TheClientshallapprovethemachineryandtoolsbeforeworksbeginandsupplyofsuchmachinerywithadequatequantitiesinordertoexecutetheworkwithduespeedandprecision.FortheClientifrequired,themanufacturer'scatalogues,specificationsandotherpublisheddatafortheequipmentandmachineryshallbesupplied.Onfirsterectingabatchingplantandatleastonceeachthreemonthsthereafter,theplantshallbecalibratedbyacalibrationserviceorganizationapprovedbytheCentralMaterialsLaboratory.ProductionshallnotbepermittediftheweighbatchcalibrationdoesnotcomplywiththerequirementsofBS5328.TheClientshallhavetherighttostoptheuseofanyequipmentorplantwhichhedeemstobeinferiortothequalityrequiredordetrimentaltothepermanentworksandtoinstructtheremovalofsuchequipmentandtohaveitreplacedbysuitableequipmentImmediatelycomplywithsuchinstructionswithoutbeingentitledtoanyindemnitiesorextensionsasaresultofsuchinstructions.AnyequipmentorplantshallnotbeusedbeforeobtainingtheapprovaloftheClientandtoengageskilled.And.trainedoperators,mechanicsandlabortocarryouttheworks.InspectionandTestingControlForverificationofplantweightsandmeasures,characterofmaterialsusedinthepreparationofthemixes,testingandotherqualitycontrolrequirements,theEngineershallatalltimesbeprovidedaccesstoallportionsofthemixingplant,aggregateplant,storageyards,crushersandotherfacilitiesusedforproducingandprocessingthematerialsofconstructionTheEngineershallhaveauthoritytotakesamplesandperformtestsonanymaterialsuppliedtothesitefromanysourcewhatsoeverinordertoestablishcomplianceandtoacceptorrejectashedeemsnecessary.Samplesshallalsobetakenfromcompletedworktodeterminecompliance.ThefrequencyofallsamplingandtestingshallbeasdesignatedbytheEngineer.Suitablefacilitiesatthequarryorplantshallbeprovidedtocarryoutallnecessarytestsontherawmaterialsandmixes.Forobtainingspecimensofmaterialsandsamplestakenfromstockpilesshallbearranged,includingtheprovisionofanynecessaryequipmentandplant.ThisworkshallbeperformedinthepresenceoftheEngineerifsodirectedbytheEngineer.MaterialsthatarenotincomplianceshallberejectedandremovedimmediatelyfromthesiteoftheworkstimesotherwiseinstructedbytheEngineer.Wheredefectsinthematerialorthecompletedworkhavebeencorrected,untilapprovalhasbeengivenbytheEngineersubsequentworkshallnotproceed.Materialswhichrequiredryingbeforeperforminganyofthedesignatedtestsshallbedriedoutattemperaturesnotgreaterthan100OC.ProcedureforSub-baseBeforecommencingtheconstructionofthesub-base,writtenapprovalfortheEngineermustbeobtainedthatthesub-gradeisincompliance.Beforestartingthesub-baseallthestructureshavetobeinstalledlikekerbs,droppedkerbs,barrier’sfoundations,medianbarriers,channelblockandgully'spre-castconcretepartwithroadgullypot.Ifthenaturalmoisturecontentislessthantheoptimummoisturecontent,thenecessaryamountofwatermustbeaddedtoobtaintheoptimumcontent.Allowanceshallbemadeforthequantityofmoisturewhichmaybelostbyevaporationintheprocessofraking,levelingandcompacting,dependingonatmospherictemperatureThecompactedlayershallhavemoisturecontentwithin.±2%oftheoptimummoisturecontent.ThemoisturecontentshallbeuniforminallpartsofthesectionwheretheworkisbeingcarriedoutandinthevariousdepthsofthelayerthicknessCompactionshallstartimmediatelyafterthematerialhasbeenlaid.Workonthesub-basecoursesshallnotcontinueduringrainyweather.Materialshallbespreadas2layerstoathicknessthatwouldresultinlayersnotmorethan150mmthickaftercompactionThecourseshallnotberolledwhentheunderlyingmaterialissoftoryieldingorwhentherollingcausesawavelikemotioninthiscourse.Whentherollingdevelopsirregularities,theirregularsurfaceshallbeloosened,thenrefilledwiththesamekindofmaterialasusedinconstructingthecourseandagainrolled.Rollingmustcontinueuntilarelativedensityofnotlessthan100%ofthemaximumdrydensityhasbeenobtainedasdeterminedbythemoisturedensityrelationshipinCML12-97Careshallbetakensothatlayersalreadycompactedunderthelayerbeingexecutedarenotdamage,orthattheformationisnotdamagedAnysuchdamageresultinginmixingthevariouslayersconstitutingthedifferentsub-gradesandsub-basecoursesshallbecarefullymadegoodbyourownexpenseandtothesatisfactionoftheEngineer.Anymaterialthatfailstomeettestrequirementsshalleitherbereworkedorremovedandreplacedandthenretestedtocheckforcompliance.Alsothecorrectiveactionsandprotectionshallbedoneaccordanc
