nbu围绕job工作话题展开英语口语讨论mzd
What do people usually take into consideration when they look for a job?
A: Hey, congratulations for your graduation of university. B: Thank you!
C: So, what have you been doing these days?
B: I’ve got a new job as a teacher giving Chinese Classes in
NO.1 Middle School. And you?
A: I’ve got a new job, too. Now I’m a new editor of the Fashion
Weekly.
C: I envy you two so much! I have nothing to do yet! I want to
know what do you consider the most important when
applying for a job
A: In my opinion, payment is very important. Since we are just the
graduates without too much working experience, we had better
not require a high-payment job.
B: From my point of view, when looking for a job, our graduates
will not pay too much attention on the salary. Instead, we
are easily influenced by an employer's reputation or brand,
career development opportunities, future earnings potential
and any benefits package on offer.
C: Nowadays, most graduates may have little bargaining
power when they start their career. But what I need to
point out is that the future of the society belongs to the
people who are well-educated. And we are the very kind of
people. We totally don’t need to accept when you know the
initial wage you’re being offered is too low.
A: Yeah! I absolutely agree with you. But do you know why I chose
to work for the Fashion Weekly but not work for other
magazines?
B: Tell me why!
A: Oh, I prefer the working condition of the Fashion Weekly. I just
need to go to work 20 hours a week. And the well-furniture
office in romantic style always gives me endless fashion
inspiration.
C: Uh-hnm, there is no denying the fact that the working
condition affects a lot when we look for a job. As I see, it’s
also important for us to work with a group of people, who
are friendly, energetic and well-united.
B: That’s right! Now I’m very satisfied with my working
condition. I have a long holiday every year, and during my
holiday I can travel to anywhere I like.
A: Does your workplace far away from your home?
B: Yes, it takes me a long time to go to the there because of
the terrible traffic. What about you?
A: I never worry about that. I live near my office. Every morning I
can go there by bike within 15 minutes.
C: Yeah, work in a place near our home usually save us a lot
of time. Dear B, have you ever think of going to work by
the subway? Though it’s a little more expensive than
taking a bus, but it will bring you to the destination more
quickly!
B: Really? I will consider it carefully! C, we haven’t known which
job on earth you want to do yet!
C: Oh, I want to be a fire fighter!
A: Gosh! Being a fire fighter is very dangerous! This kind of job is
not very secure!
B: Yes! Many people like to work in a safe, peaceful and
comfortable place. You are so different!
A: Are you scared when you are confronted with a burning building
and the smelly smoke?
C: No, I don’t care. Rescuing the people in danger makes me
feel that my life is meaningful and wonderful.
B: So, wish you can find the job you like.
C: Thank you.
